The origin of canned fruit, sweets, jellies and jams is very old. This technique was given to us by the Arabs who used it for medicinal usage.
The art to conserve these products has not changed throughout the centuries and it continues to be simple and fast. What differs from one producer to the other is whether it’s sweeter or not or if other ingredients are added to create different textures and flavours.
As in many cases, the recipes are passed down through several generations and it was this taste and passion that brought Cidália Tomás to take her grandma recipes and share the traditional flavours not before giving them a twist using other fruits.

We’ll start off by visiting the corners of this beautiful property and get to know the history, characteristics and distinctive qualities of the Rocha pear. On our journey back to the estate, you have the chance to observe and feed the animals that live in the estate.
Afterwards we are off to the sweets processing zone. You’ll be introduced to the production methods and techniques that ensure the high quality of the end product.
To finish, there is nothing better than to taste some of the delights that are produced from traditional flavours.
