Visit the town of Paiva guided by the famous texto of Fernando Namora. Revisit the places, characters, houses and episodes by going through some passages of the book. A guide will help us discover the land, its people and customs through the senses and intelligence of Fernando Namora who spent a piece of his life here.
Visit churches (S. Francisco church, dolmen-chapel of S. Dinis and the church of Santo António), the old town jail, the fairs place and the house where the author lived.
If you decide to visit during te summer, you’ll get the chance to assist to the “poente incendiado” (sunset on fire) that Namora states in his book.
Finally, delight yourself with a lunch or dinner a tone of the many restaurants in town and treat yourself to a traditional meal of the Alentejo such as the widely enjoyed wild hunt dishes.
