Wine and the vineyards: Region of Lisbon
In the north of the capital, the wines Bucelas.
In the south, wines of Palmela and Setúbal Peninsula.
In the west, the Colares wine.
Day 1: The Bucelas wine is highly appreciated, and they say it was introduced in the region by the Romans. However, it is during the eighteenth century, during the French invasion, that the Bucelas wine begins to be known internationally. The day begins in Bucelas, with a visit to the Wine and Vine Museum of Bucelas. In the end, the route includes some historical points of Bucelas. Visit a wine producer, founded in 1881 and make a wine tasting, while watching the explanation of the techniques used. In the afternoon, visit some monuments still existing in the region, linked to the French invasions.
Day 2: The next day starts toward Colares, with the Sintra hills as a backdrop. The natural beauty is one of the strengths of the region, where the wine culture plays a predominant role. Visit the Adega de Colares, and then a wine producer. Get to know some of the religious monuments and the pillory of Colares. In the afternoon, the magic of Sintra awaits you, with all the romance so characteristic of the region. The list of monuments and places to visit is very varied, and your personalized itinerary tells you what you can do in Sintra.
Day 3: Towards the south of the Tagus River, enjoy the beautiful scenery while crossing the 25th of April Bridge. The destination is the city of Setúbal, visiting its historical center and the market where you can sample some of the best agricultural products of the region and the high quality fresh fish. Head towards the Capuchin Convent, where nobody stays indifferent to the breathtaking landscape, that can be seen from the top of the mountain. The route then follows for Azeitão, with a visit to one of the most famous producers in the region and taste the famous Moscatel de Setúbal. The day ends at the Castle of Palmela, a place with a 360 degree view of the entire region.
Days 4 and 5: Days dedicated to the discovery of Lisbon. Lisbon is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In addition to the breathtaking views in each of its seven hills, the city maintains a genuine look, with details that gives them a charm, now lost in many other European cities. Our gaze is lost easily in architectural details like tiles in shades of blue, or the colorful facades that give life to the city streets. But it is also impossible to remain indifferent to the beauty and intensity of the light that bathes the city, that has inspired so many artists, poets and writers. With the river Tagus as your companion, Lisbon is perfect for a real cultural discovery trip. With the help of the personalized itinerary, discover the many different aspects of this beautiful city.
